Why supplement?
Low-dose oral tolerance
After contact with gut-associated lymphoid tissue, undenatured type II collagen can induce immune tolerance to cartilage type II collagen and reduce over-attack on joint cartilage. Trials often use about 40 mg daily—not collagen as amino-acid feedstock. Knee discomfort is the main setting; endpoints are usually joint-function scales, not skin elasticity.
Keep it distinct from hydrolyzed collagen peptides
Hydrolyzed collagen peptides supply hydroxyproline oligopeptides in gram amounts, as matrix feedstock and fibroblast signals. UC-II doses are two orders of magnitude lower; the triple helix must stay intact, and heat denaturation loses this tolerance path. Buy by undenatured type II labeling; ordinary collagen powder cannot replace it.
How to take it
After regular use, review how you feel and whether the dose needs adjusting.
How oftenGenerally can be used daily and adjusted to individual need.
