Why supplement?
Isothiocyanate induction of Nrf2
Sulforaphane activates Nrf2 and upregulates phase II enzymes such as quinone reductase and GST. The setting is cellular detox and oxidative-stress adaptation, not vitamin A replacement. Fresh broccoli needs chewing to release the enzyme; supplements often use seed extract or stabilized sulforaphane. Bloating is a common tolerance issue and can be shifted to after meals.
Not anthocyanins or lutein
Anthocyanins are petal and fruit-skin pigments; lutein is a macular carotenoid. Sulforaphane has no conjugated chain of a colored antioxidant. Recognize isothiocyanate milligrams or seed-extract labeling. The path also differs from curcumin polyphenols. Buy by sulforaphane or glucoraphanin plus active-enzyme notes.
How to take it
