Why supplement?
Maintains the skin barrier
After entering cells, panthenol is oxidized to pantothenic acid and then built into coenzyme A; both fatty-acid synthesis and oxidation need this coenzyme. On the skin surface it is also a small-molecule alcohol that holds water and lowers transepidermal water loss. When the concern is a dry, tight barrier, the alcohol-form precursor plus moisture is two roles of the same molecule.
Helps superficial skin repair
Skincare and spray trials watch recovery after dryness, tightness, and superficial irritation. Panthenol stays in the stratum corneum as a humectant and supports the coenzyme A needed for lipid synthesis. This alcohol is common on lips, the diaper area, and sun-exposed skin; moisture can be felt after several continuous days, while a deeper barrier takes longer.
