Why supplement?
Antioxidant protection
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes from lipid peroxidation. It is common in plant oils, nuts, and seeds. Supplements should distinguish natural d-alpha from synthetic dl-alpha, and be read in milligrams of alpha-tocopherol. Put the use on membrane-lipid protection.
Supports immune function
Enough vitamin E helps immune-cell membrane stability and discussion of normal immune response. Diet should lead from oils and nuts. If you supplement, take it with a fat-containing meal and use labeled milligrams. The focus is antioxidant and immune nutrition, not ever-higher doses.
How to take it
Check whether the label is natural d-alpha or synthetic dl-alpha form.
How oftenUse the recommended daily intake; the adult supplement upper limit is 1,000 mg/day.
