The most common B12 salt

Cyanocobalamin is stable and the most studied. The body then converts it to methyl- and adenosylcobalamin. Oral absorption is poor when intrinsic factor is lacking. The uses are myelin and blood formation.

Myelin and blood formation

Cyanocobalamin is a source of Vitamin B12. B12 maintains nerves and normal blood formation. This form can be taken by mouth when intrinsic factor is intact; vegan diets have almost no food source.
