Gluconate

Copper gluconate is an organic gluconate salt. Taste and gut tolerance are usually milder than the sulfate, and the elemental fraction is lower. The use is the known physiology of copper.

Iron transport and collagen cross-links

Copper gluconate is a source of copper. Ceruloplasmin helps move iron, and lysyl oxidase cross-links collagen. This salt supplies trace copper; long-term high zinc is the usual way to induce copper shortage.
