Primary

Promotes fatty-acid oxidation

After calcium pantothenate releases pantothenic acid, coenzyme A is built so fatty acids can be activated to acyl-CoA and enter β-oxidation. Egg, mushrooms, and whole grains already contain pantothenate. For extreme picky eating or very poor absorption, this stable calcium salt is used to put coenzyme A feedstock into everyday tablets.

Primary

Support energetic acyl transfer

Acetylation, cholesterol synthesis, and rapid mucosal renewal all need coenzyme A to move acyl groups. Pantothenic acid itself is hygroscopic; as a calcium salt it suits tableting and storage. Fast-renewing tissues such as scalp and intestinal mucosa more easily feel whether this acyl path has feedstock.

Fatigue

Acetylation, cholesterol synthesis, and rapid mucosal renewal all need coenzyme A to move acyl groups. People who cannot get going by day and feel foggy in the afternoon more often notice stamina for tasks and mental freshness after several continuous weeks.
