Interrupts lipid peroxidation
β-Tocopherol has a different ring-methyl position from α; the phenolic hydroxyl can still donate electrons and break peroxidation. Wheat-germ and similar oils contain traces; in mixed-tocopherol oils it is a supporting player, and the natural spectrum of pressed plant oils brings a little of it to intercept membrane peroxyl radicals.
Protects cell membranes
The liver transfer protein has low affinity for β, so circulating levels are low and its contribution to human vitamin E status is small. When reading mixed-tocopherol composition, β fills out the natural plant-oil spectrum; it is a small share of that spectrum but can still donate electrons at the membrane.
Which symptoms may ease?
Dry skin
β-Tocopherol has a different ring-methyl position from α; the phenolic hydroxyl can still donate electrons and break peroxidation. People whose calves or cheeks feel tight and flaky more often notice moisture and less itch after several continuous weeks.
Which conditions may it support?
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
The liver transfer protein has low affinity for β, so circulating levels are low and its contribution to human vitamin E status is small. People whose imaging or enzyme markers suggest fatty liver and who feel fullness under the right ribs more often notice abdominal feel and labs after several continuous weeks.
How to take it?
Check whether the label is natural d-alpha or synthetic dl-alpha form.
How oftenUse the recommended daily intake; the adult supplement upper limit is 1,000 mg/day.

Cautions
People with bleeding tendency or upcoming surgery should ask a clinician first.
High-dose supplementation is not stronger antioxidant benefit.
Interactions
- Anticoagulants / antiplatelets (high doses raise bleeding risk)
· Stomach discomfort
· Fatigue or headache (high doses)
· High doses may increase bleeding risk.
